The South Florida Sun-Sentinel said the deal is worth $25 million over five years with a $9 million signing bonus, and is contingent upon Smiley passing a physical on Friday, the first day of free agency in the NFL. Smiley played just eight games last season because of a shoulder injury that required surgery. He started every game of the 2005 and '06 seasons, and made nine starts in his rookie campaign of 2004. The 26-year-old native of Georgia was a second-round pick in the 2004 draft after a standout collegiate career at Alabama.
