Kansas notebook: Senior Night excerpts
First half
Key play: With the clock winding down on a dominant first half, Mario Chalmers drove the lane, got lost and flipped the ball behind his back toward the rim. Darrell Arthur grabbed the ball and threw it in for an improbable alley-oop dunk, and KU led 51-26.
Key stat: 55.9. KU’s field-goal percentage.
Second half
Key play: Russell Robinson hit two straight three-pointers coming out of the break and gave KU a 57-27 lead. The rout was on.
Key stat: 58.3. The Jayhawks’ percentage in making 14 of 24 three-pointers.

Jeremy Case: “Coach Self, we had our ups and downs, but honestly, I’ve learned a lot from him.
“When I become a coach, I’m going to use a lot of his philosophies.”
Sasha Kaun on coming to the U.S. from Russia: “Coming here from another country was really difficult for me. You guys make me feel like I’m at home.”
Kaun on his mother, Olga, who was in the stands: “She doesn’t understand half of what I say because she doesn’t speak much English. I’m pretty sure she’s proud of me right now.”
Darnell Jackson: “Coach Self, I just want to know that when I leave here, I hope I have a place in your heart and your home. You helped me out a lot. I love you for that.”

•Kansas junior Brandon Rush won Big 12 player of the week on Monday. Rush shared the recognition with Baylor’s Kevin Rogers. Rush averaged 18 points in two KU wins.
