For the third straight Big 12 game, his Tigers hacked everything in sight. And for the third straight Big 12 game, the Tigers lost because of it. Texas Tech hit 36 of 50 free throws in downing Missouri 92-84 on Saturday night. Martin Zeno — 19 of 24 from the free-throw line on the way to 33 points — took and made more than the entire Missouri team. The Tigers hit 12 of 15. But Missouri, despite Keon Lawrence’s career-high-tying 24 points, is now 1-3 in the Big 12 and 11-8 overall because of this cumulative statistic: In Missouri’s three league losses, the Tigers’ opposition has now taken 132 free throws. And even if Iowa State, Texas Tech and Kansas combined to hit only 89, that’s been good enough to hand MU defeats by five, six and now eight points. Down by as many as 12 points, Missouri used an 11-0 run to fuel a 40-37 edge over Texas Tech at the half. But the second half was a parade to the foul line for Tech, the Red Raiders hitting 23 of 30 from there.
